Imagine is a song written, recorded and released in 1971 by John Lennon.

In the novel number9dream, Eiji Miyake, a fan of The Beatles and John Lennon, hears a “muzak” version of Imagine playing in Jupiter Café and imagines John Lennon waking up in his tomb: “It is vile beyond belief. Even the traitors who recorded this horror hated it."

Later, in a segment of the novel that is being imagined by Miyake, he "strolls down to the elevator, casually whistling 'Imagine.'"
